In partnership with the Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) and LW Associates, Frontier Community Services was announced as a recipient of the 2016 Housing Tax Credit program awards for two communities: Sandstone Apartments in The Plains, Athens County, Ohio, and Miller Commons in Ashville, Pickaway County, Ohio.
Sandstone Apartments will serve individuals and families restricted to incomes at or below 60% of Area Median Income. The development will have of up to 50, 2-, 3-, & 4-bedroom units. The community will consist of single-story ranch apartments with 1 or 2 baths, washer/dryer hookups, and attached garages. There will be a large playground, community garden, and shelter house/community building for the residents to use and enjoy.
Miller Commons will be restricted to people age 55+ with incomes at or below 60% of Area Median Income. The development will have of up to 40, 2-bedroom units. The community will consist of stacked garden apartments with 1 bath, washer/dryer hookups, and ample parking. There will be a shelter house and community building for the residents to use and enjoy.
Both communities will utilize universal design characteristics that will achieve 100% accessibility throughout the development. The communities also offer professional on-site management and 24-hour emergency maintenance services provided by Community Investment Management Services (CIMS). The expected completion will be around the fall of 2017.
